Concept The idea was to design with the pupils the hallway in front of their classrooms.There are four classes, named Koala, Penguin, Bear and Tiger with a total of about 40 children. The length of the hallway is appr. 35 meters and leads to 5 rooms whereof 4 are used as classrooms. The walls between the doors are divided by 5 recesses (appr. 4,5o m x 2,20 m). This space is used up by two wardrobes each and presentation space. This space is used up by two wardrobes each and presentation space. I planned to frame these recesses with coloured friezes consisting of many small stucco reliefs. To structure the hallway in terms of colour I assigned each class a recess and each recess a certain main colour: Red for the Koalas, blue for the Penguins, green for the Bears and yellow for the Tigers and violet for the 5th recess. Together with the teachers we decided that the stucco reliefs were to show animals. The inner walls of the recesses I imagined to be grey, the back wall should be worked over with a light glaze based on the existing light blue main colour.
